GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - Garden Route police have arrested eight people in connection with three unrelated murder cases reported in the district.
In the first incident, Pacaltsdorp police responded to a complaint in Voëlnesvaring Street, New Dawn Park, at about 05:20 on Saturday 16 August.
On arrival, officers discovered the body of a 25-year-old man with a stab wound to the chest. Paramedics declared him dead at the scene. A 26-year-old suspect was arrested and is expected to appear in the George Magistrate’s Court today, Monday 18 August.
In a separate case, Kwanokuthula police arrested a 26-year-old woman following the death of a man in Kranshoek outside Plettenberg Bay. At around 01:30 on Sunday 17 August, officers were called to Ted Brown Street, where the victim had collapsed with a stab wound to the chest. He was certified dead by medical personnel. The woman was arrested nearby and will appear in the Plettenberg Bay Magistrate’s Court during the week.
Meanwhile, a tracing operation by Riversdale police and the George Public Order Police led to the arrest of six suspects, aged between 19 and 26, linked to the murder of 30-year-old Lourens Ntozini. Ntozini was found with multiple injuries in Varkie Street, Riversdale, on 4 April 2025. He was taken to George Provincial Hospital, where he later died.
One additional suspect, already in custody on an unrelated charge, will join the group when they make their first appearance in the Riversdale Magistrate’s Court on Monday 18 August. This brings the total number of arrests in the case to seven.
