WESTERN CAPE NEWS - Western Cape premier Alan Winde, called on residents to be responsible over the weekend, to protect our healthcare system, which is under pressure.
The premier said in a statement earlier today:
As we move into the weekend, I call on residents to drink responsibly, to not drink and drive, and to avoid gatherings and crowds.
We must do everything we can to protect our healthcare system and prevent trauma admissions over the weekend, as our health platform is under pressure.
Please:
- Wear your mask properly, covering your nose and mouth.
- Wash and sanitise your hands regularly.
- Avoid crowded places, confined spaces and close contact.
- Keep your gatherings short, small and outdoors – with lots of ventilation.
- Drink responsibly and do not drink and drive.
- Get vaccinated when it is your turn.
- Stay home if you feel sick. If you have any difficulty breathing, seek urgent medical treatment.
- Help protect those at highest risk – especially those who are older, and those with comorbidities.
