BUSINESS NEWS - Tourism to South Africa has increased by just under a percent in May. This is according to Stats SA's Tourism and Migration figures released on Monday.
South Africa seems to have struck a chord with Brazilians, with more than double the tourists from the South American country visiting compared to the same time last year.
Most overseas visitors still come from the United States.
Stats SA's latest data shows an uptick in tourism to 760,000 visitors in May.
South Africans also seem to be packing their bags more often, however, the data does not reveal whether this was for business or holiday.
The growing number bodes well for the tourism sector which creates one out of every 22 jobs in South Africa, according to the most recent data.
