GEORGE BUSINESS NEWS - Looking at the wide range of beautiful frames on display at The Visonary, Shop 9 Heather Park Shopping Centre, it is plain to see that Anriëtte Bester, The Visionary's experienced optometrist, takes the old English proverb: "The eyes are the windows to the soul" to heart.
Any one of her many patients can attest to the care with which she matches the many frames with their faces, ensuring that the "windows of their soul" are perfectly framed.
The Visionary is the first practice in the George area to offer the stylish and contemporary Blackfin eyewear range recently launched in Italy where they are completely designed and manufactured. This Balckfin range, which explored new frontiers in the use of titanium to create clean and defined lines, with titanium being the ideal material for eyewear as it is lightweight, strong and hypoallergenic - all qualities which make eyeglasses more comfortable, functional and longer-lasting.
Besides the much sought after Blackfin range, The Visionary also stocks beautiful New York inspired Charles Stone frames as well as William Morris from London. "We pride ourselves in offering the Ronit Furst range who's frames are hand-painted in Israel," said Bester.
Free form lenses
Not only does Bester offer multi-focal lenses to her patients, but the new improved free form lenses (also called digital high-definition lenses) as well. According to these lens manufacturers, free form lenses reduce aberrations that limit field of view and cause star-bursts, halos and comet-shaped distortions of lights at night significantly.
Free form lenses are fabricated from wearer's eyeglass prescription using computer-controlled surfacing equipment which is far more precise than conventional tools. The precisely made and personalised surfaces of these high-definition lenses may provide sharper image quality, better peripheral vision, improved contrast sensitivity and less glare at night.
"With patients who have battled to adapt to multi-focal lenses I find the high-definition/free form lenses often easier for the wearer," said Bester.
Besides the exquisite frames and specialised free form lenses, Bester ensures that all her patients are afforded the best possible service and lenses at the best possible price.
The Visionary takes as much care of their patients who are members of good medical aids as those who's medical aids offer limited optical benefits such as KeyHealth. "I offer a special pensioners packages for single, bi and multi-focal lenses as well," concluded Bester.
