GEORGE NEWS - The new Halaal restaurant and takeaway on the corner of Courtenay and Wellington Street, Tastebuds, has made many foodies in George very happy during the past three months.
The aromatic curry dishes and other hearty treats on offer have ensured that Tastebuds already has a huge following. Owner Adeelah Abrahams says they have a very loyal regular client base, but that there are still many food lovers out there who need Tastebuds in their lives.
"We offer delicious food at very affordable prices. I buy only the highest quality produce available and do not use any vegetable oil when cooking.
"All our traditional dishes are prepared to ensure they are very tasty but also healthy."
The menu features tempting Malay curries, biriyanis, butter chicken curry, vegetarian curries and other non-spicy meals. Since opening they have sold 4000 samoosas per month and have clients who support them every single day of the week. "Our samoosas are non-oily, light and crispy and is a delicacy enjoyed by young and old. We have a variety of fillings - a taste to please everyone."

‘Tastebuds delightful!’
A client is full of praise for Tastebuds on the WOMF word of mouth forum at gardenroute.womf.com:
"I popped into this very nice place in George. It provides Cape Malay cuisine like doughnuts, samoosas, curry, biriyani, etc. Fresh and quite cheap. The owner, Adeelah provided me with 10 platters of a great variety food for my birthday. It arrived, still hot, at work the morning of 10 May and it fed 150 people. It was cheap, trust me. Best of all she provided this at only one day’s notice. Thank you, Johanie."
Tastebuds will be serving up lovely meals at the Cheese Festival at Outeniqua Primary from 10 to 13 June, so don’t delay. Treat yourself to a Tastebuds meal and let your own taste buds do the talking.
