BUSINESS NEWS - “Final Chapter” is a practical seminar to help us prepare for the inevitable last chapter of life, in order to minimize the trauma for loved ones left behind.
Unfortunately death is a reality and an inevitable part of life – the closing scene to a life hopefully well lived. Losing a loved one is never easy, no matter how much time we had to prepare ourselves for it, the finality thereof always comes as a shock. Therefore are presenting a seminar, free of charge, which is aimed at facilitating discussion around the topic, in order to answer some of the very practical questions which inevitably arise.
We are planning 4 sessions of roughly 30-45 minutes each, during which we will discuss the following:
An interview with 2 ladies who have recently been widowed, but in very different circumstances, which left the one with time to prepare herself, but not the other. How did this impact on their road ahead?
The next session briefly looks at wills, executors, estate duty and other legal aspects. We also talk about the need to ensure that both marriage partners know where to find the relevant documentation. We also encourage partners to mention the practical stuff such as who services the car and where to have tires replaced!
After a tea and coffee break with some refreshments, we host an interview with a funeral director is George. We will again be asking the practical questions, such as: who do I phone when I realize that my partner has passed away, which documents do I need to take to the funeral home, am I bound to using the funeral home who underwrote our funeral policy, what is the average cost of a burial and how does this compare to cremation?
After each session, we will also allow time for questions from the floor, in order to ensure that questions relevant to the audience do not go unanswered.
We conclude the morning by looking at the God – factor!
Final Chapter is for everyone with no age, or race, or denominational barriers, in fact it is for people of every walk of life and religious orientation.
