Personally, I’m a big fan of compact SUVs, and for so many reasons. As a shorty (as in height, not as in girlfriend) large SUVs are a challenge just getting into. So, I’m sure you understand my preference for being able to climb into a car comfortably without having to channel my inner Spiderman.
Unlike the smaller hatches though, I have enough space to cart around my kids (with an added friend or two) with all their extracurricular equipment, and I also don’t need a boat licence to park it in the streets of George.
The T-Cross ticks all the boxes for me in terms of comfort and performance – I could definitely see myself driving one of these, but then when I saw the price, and fuel consumption, well then, that vison seemed less like a daydream and more like a reality!
THE EXPERIENCE
Other than its fantastic fuel consumption of only 5.5l per 100km, what really surprised me was its willingness to perform! This 3-cylinder, 1.0-litre petrol engine really goes. Capping out at 85KW with 200NM torque, it’s just what you need (with a little extra oomph) for your daily commute, as well as for overtaking the slowpokes on the highway.
The cabin is comfy with sufficient room for trekking around the kiddies and their belongings, with all the smart tech that you need for a busy life and easy drive.

IN CONCLUSION:
Personally, I love this car - and I mean that from a real-life application perspective, not as a pipe dream. It honestly would be one that I myself would choose.
