Werkers, hoofsaaklik GO GEORGE-busbestuurders en werkers van Working on Fire (WoF), het Woensdag 25 April, as deel van die landwye staking van die vakbondfederasie, South African Federation of Trade Unions (Saftu), in George byeengekom. Dié optog spruit uit die landswye staking waarin busbestuurders reeds vir drie weke staak. Lede van die National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) het ook by die groep aangesluit. Die federasie het ten doel om nié die voorgestelde R20 per uur nasionale minimumloon te aanvaar nie. Dié bedrag is volgens hulle te min.
