'n Optog is op Vrydag 19 Desember in Conville gehou om stemme dik te maak teen toenemende misdaad. Die geleentheid is aangebied deur die Oosstreek van die DA in die Wes-Kaap. George se burgemeester, Browen Jonson, het 'n petisie aan die Conville-polisie oorhandig waarin die waarnemende minister van polisie, prof. Firoz Cachalia, versoek word om by sy departement in te gryp sodat polisiestasies beter toegerus kan word om misdaad te beveg.
