Suspects from protest released
Most of the suspects who were arrested following last week's violent protest were released on Tuesday 26 and Wednesday 27 June by the George Magistrate's Court. Nineteen suspects, who appeared in two separate groups in court, with one woman among them, were released on warning pending further investigation. Two suspects were kept in custody as they have previous ongoing cases. The first group of suspects will appear in court again on 14 August and the second group on 9 July.
