GEORGE NEWS - Fancourt's festive season programme sparkles with six top acts including Khan Morbee, Gangs of Ballet and Prime Circle on Sunday 21 December; The Parlotones on Saturday 27 December, as well as Arno Carstens and Jesse Clegg on Saturday 3 January, who will perform as part of the popular outdoor picnic concerts held on the Fancourt lawns.
Tickets cost R200 per person and R100 for children. Gates open from 14:00 onwards, and concert goers are welcome to take their own picnic blankets. Eats and beverages will be for sale.
On Tuesday 16 December top stand-up comic Barry Hilton is set to bring the house down with his show, The Way I See It, presented in the ballroom venue (R150 per person). Bookings: Computicket.
On Friday 12 and Saturday 13 December Fancourt will present its Sparkling Wine Festival featuring live music and bubbly from 15 wine estates (R150 per person). Wine farms will present their vintages for tasting while wine enthusiasts taste their way around some of the best bubbly in the region, from 16:00 to 20:00 on Friday, and from 12:00 to 15:00 on Saturday. It's a great opportunity to stock up for the festive celebrations too. The jam-packed festive season programme is open to visitors, as well as guests staying at Fancourt's two luxury hotels.
On the culinary front, a delicious Karoo High Tea will be served on Saturday 20 December in the Manor House Gazebo, offering a scrumptious selection of treats to indulge the sweet tooth at R150 per person. On Thursday 25 December, a traditional Christmas buffet will be served in the banquet hall, which includes Christmas crackers and a welcome drink. (R390 adults, R250 kids 4-10 years, 0-3 years).
