GEORGE NEWS - Mixed media artist Gerda Smith’s new exhibition, 'Time Fragments', opened on 20 February at the Attic Atelier in George.
This innovative work is a collection of charcoal and mixed media pieces.
The artist explains: "About the title: Life is a fragile thing - it can suddenly splinter into a million pieces. Then comes the time of quiet reflection. Of slowly stitching the pieces together in a different pattern.
"The pieces in this collection are snapshots of life. Moments experienced on the way.”
Art lovers are invited to view (and purchase) the works at the Attic Atelier, 33 Langenhoven Street, George.
The exhibition runs from 20 February to 8 March, weekdays from 09:00 to 16:00 and Saturdays from 09:00 to 13:00.
On Thursday 6 March, the usual First Thursdays event at Attic Atelier promises to be an entertaining evening with poetry readings on the programme. Favourite poems and/or poetry from poetic journals will be shared with fellow poetry lovers.
