GEORGE NEWS - The George Society of Arts Outreach Project, sponsored by the Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport, proudly presents The Crossing at the George Arts Theatre on 24 April at 16:00.
This unique show, written and performed by Jonathan Nkala, is an autobiography of Jonathan's journey from Zimbabwe to South Africa and the challenges he faced.
The Crossing provides a unique insight into the conditions and reasons why anyone would decide to be an illegal immigrant. It is emotionally charged but humorous at the same time.
Jonathan is a skilled performer and has performed The Crossing in many parts of South Africa as well as at an Arts Festival in the United States. This show has been adapted to include parts of his journey that were not portrayed in his previous show.
"We are thrilled to have Jonathan back in the Garden Route and look forward to the other plays that he has written and is preparing to perform," said Heather Stead, manager of the outreach project.
Book a ticket (R100 per person) through Computicket or at the George Arts Theatre at 044 874 3839.
