GEORGE NEWS - Ludolph Pedro, gifted piano player from George, received some of the highest accolades for his talent. He won the Hennie Joubert Merit Prize for his outstanding performance during the Unisa Grade 4 piano examinations.
Merit prizes are awarded to candidates who have excelled in the practical or theoretical examinations conducted by Unisa's directorate of music.
This is the fourth time that the 14-year-old pupil of York High School has been awarded this prestigious prize.
He achieved 97% for his Grade 4 practical examinations in 2017 while he was still a Grade 7 learner at Holy Cross Primary School.
These prizes were awarded to him in 2013, 2014 and 2016. He achieved 97% for Unisa Pregrade 1 in 2013, 98% for Unisa Grade 1 in 2014 and 96% for Unisa Grade 3 examinations in 2016.
Following his excellent past results and accomplishments, Ludolph decided that it would be a greater challenge to him to skip the Grade 5 examination and enter Grade 6. Ludolph is a pupil of Greta Benade.
Ludolph was wished all the best on this musical journey. His proud mother Deidre is thrilled about this latest achievement.
