GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - If you have kids or grandchildren, there are many reasons why you should attend the Strawberry Festival presented by Ola!
Bring your little people for a festive family weekend on 30 September to 1 October at Redberry Farm in George.
Annual attractions are the enormous inflatable play park, kids shows on the outside stage, Redberry Farm family activities and sports.
Tractor rides through the strawberry fields are a new activity not to miss!
With an assortment of jumping castles, bucking bronco bull, giant slide, "the rocket", sumo suits and paintball target shooting, the inflatable kids' play park will keep tiny festival-goers happy all day!
The Redberry Express mini train is always a family favourite and other activities to enjoy include pony rides, pedal go-carts, bunny feeding, bubble ball, bumper and paddle boats on the dam and a tiny tots soft play area.
Sign up for some sweet and sticky fun by entering the free strawberry and ice-cream eat offs throughout the weekend. Enjoy playful balloon twisting, face painting and Meet the Mascot shows at the outside stage.
Children will have a ball choosing which jumping castle to play on.
Kids from age 6 will be modelling their "best dressed" strawberry outfits in the Ace Models Miss Strawberry pageant.
Active kids can take part in trail running (from age 9) and the new Zumbathon (age 7 to 11).
The 5km family fun run/walk through the strawberry countryside is on Saturday 30 September and pre-entries are accepted online or on the day, depending on availability.
Zumba for Kids, on Sunday 1 October, is a fun fitness dance party fundraiser for Cansa with donations accepted in lieu of a class fee. View more info at www.strawberryfestival.co.za.
