GEORGE NEWS - Suan and Geran Steyn, sister and brother, were both born and bred in George.

They now live in Cape Town where they are pursuing careers in the world of entertainment.

Suan, a trained opera singer, recently performed for Prince Charles and Camilla at the St Georges Cathedral in Cape Town.

A member of the 'Voice of the Nation' Vocal ensemble at Cape Town Opera, based at Artscape, Suan was seen in several big Cape Town Opera productions this year including 'La Traviata' and the 'Nelson Mandela Trilogy' which was also performed at Monte Casino in Johannesburg and in Durban.

Suan has travelled all over Europe in the last couple of years with musicals such as the Cape Town Opera's 'Showboat'. Next year they plan to tour the UK.

Geran, who has made his mark as bass guitarist for two rock bands is now concentrating on his singing.

This year he joined 'D7', an all male 'A Capella' singing group as bass singer. They perform at corporate and private functions all over the country.

Geran was also invited to join a group of performers to accompany Josh Groban on his tour in Cape Town and Port Elizabeth.

This was certainly one of the highlights of Geran's singing career.
