ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - On 29 September, two of South Africa's most prolific performing artists will collaborate to bring their unforgettable show to George. Albert Meintjes and Tanja Storm will present Songs and Stories at 19:30 in the Oakhurst Insurance George Arts Theatre.
Inspired to write and perform his own compositions, accomplished singer / songwriter Albert Meintjes made his introduction to South African stages in 1996.
Along with his love for folk and acoustic music from across the globe, Albert's strongest source of lyrical inspiration is drawn from the happenings of day-to-day life, and the emotions they invoke. His stories of love, adventure and the all too often unseen natural beauty that constantly surrounds us, promises to take his audience on an inspiriting and captivating journey.
Albert has released two albums with Scicoustic, and one album as Algrecko, featuring Greg Georgiandes. His much anticipated debut solo album, The Very Silence of Waiting in this Place, was successfully launched in April 2017.
Prolific, enthusiastic, creative and gifted, Tanja Storm is a multi-talented and skilled vocalist, instrumentalist and music director. She released her debut album in 2009, with her first music video, Tevergeefs, being broadcast on KykNet.
Recently returning to studio after years of successful projects with various cover bands and theatre work, numerous of her latest singles have hit number one on South African music charts. Her much-anticipated second music video, Môreson, will also be broadcast on KykNet.
Both artists, who reside in the picturesque Garden Route, have unique voices, brilliant songwriting abilities and exceptional instrumental techniques.
Albert and Tanja are no strangers to the music scene and have shared stages with some of South Africa's top artists, such as Albert Frost, Karen Zoid, Valiant Swart, Shaun Morgan (Seether), Johnny Clegg, Gerald Clark, Piet Botha, Black Cat Bones, Jan Blohm and Mel Botes.
