MOSSEL BAY NEWS - As part of raising funds for Stehan Knuppe a Rhythm in Motion line dancing marathon is being held on Wednesday, 14 August.
Stehan, a six-year-old neuroblastoma survivor, achieved victory over this disease after a courageous fight in November 2022.
However, his journey took a turn when he was diagnosed with leukaemia on 23 April this year. Now he will undergo rigorous chemotherapy treatment.
Beginner
Mainly, the line dancing marathon will be beginner dancer oriented, with "walk throughs".
Enjoy some exercise and support a worthy cause at the same time. Pack a picnic basket with something to eat and drink and join the fun. Just sent a WhatsApp with proof of payment to book your place.
Ronél Steyn, an ambassador for Cupcakes of Hope, who was an Olympic torchbearer in Paris, is on a mission to rally support and raise R600 000 for Stehan’s critical cancer treatment.
Chemotherapy
Stehan urgently needs a chemotherapy drug. Ronél is working closely with his family and organisations to organise a large virtual fundraiser in South Africa and Europe, aiming to involve thousands of participants.
Active
With the 6K for Stehan project, the aim is to inspire 6 000 people to get up and be active for six kilometres, whether they want to walk, run, swim or spend 6 000 seconds in the gym or on a trampoline (or anything else).
“The idea is that anyone can be a champion, and people can decide whether they want to do the distance in one day or over several weeks.
"There is no age limit, no time limit and no limit to the amount of fun that this virtual race can be!”
