GEORGE NEWS - Let's Go Fishing Garden Route invites families to take part in their fishing competition on Saturday 3 March.

"All types of anglers - novices and experts - are welcome," says Jean Nysschen, the organiser of the event.

The area in which the competition will take place stretches from Klein Brak River beach (Elwegat) to the river mouth and up the river to the N2 bridge.

"There are lots of prizes to be won and a braai and social afterwards for those who want to join in," said Nysschen. 

The first Let's Go Fishing Garden Route video will be taken on the competition day, and every participant will receive a copy. 

The club promotes catch-and-release fishing etiquette.

The entry fee of R80 (adults) and R40 (children under 16) can be paid at Extreme Fishing (next to Romans Pizza in York Street) or Tackle Traders (across Midas in Hibernia Street).
