GEORGE NEWS - The George Tennis Club delivered a commanding performance at the Eden event of the Amex National Club Championships 2026, completing a rare clean sweep across both divisions in a weekend of high-quality tennis.
Played in ideal conditions on the club's top-class courts, the tournament featured 32 players from Eden-affiliated clubs, all showcasing strong skill, discipline and sportsmanship.
Four teams competed in each of the A and B divisions, with a lively atmosphere both on and off the court driving a competitive and spirited event.
George Tennis Club proved unstoppable, taking both the A and B division titles and securing runner-up positions in both categories.

In the A division final, the Great Warriors claimed top honours, with the George Stingers finishing as runners-up after a hard-fought campaign.
In the B division, the George String Quartet secured victory, while the George Lilies pushed them all the way to finish second.
The results speak of George Tennis Club's current form as they now shift focus to the Amex Provincial Club Championships, set at the Strand Tennis Club for 6 and 7 June. There they will face strong opposition from Cape Town Tennis and the Winelands region.
