SOUTHERN CAPE NEWS - In pursuit of the best bodybuilders along the Southern Coast and beyond, Garden Route Casino hosted the Bodybuilding Classic on Saturday, 4 July.
Garden Route Marketing Manager, Karen Johnstone says, "We are very excited that in its third year running, the Garden Route Bodybuilding Classic has now qualified for the Arnold Classic, which is an international bodybuilding event."
Accredited by the International Federation for Body Building (IFBB) and Body Building South Africa (BBSA) the event attracted competitors from the Garden Route and surrounding areas.
During the event, the audience was also encouraged to participate in the competition by flexing their muscles and winning freebies from the sponsors who made the show possible.
After sifting through the contestants, judges made their final decision. Jade Essendrup, a 23 year old bodybuilder from East London was selected as the overall winner for the 2015 tournament. Essendrup commented that all his hard work had paid off.
As the main sponsor of the event, Garden Route Casino - sponsored R1000 per line-up for each winner and the overall winner of the tournament was awarded R3000 in cash.

Body Building Classic senior men under 80kg - Simon, who came third, Johan du Toit (event organiser), Fabian Campher, who came first, Biogen representative - Pieter Terblanche and Johann Viljoen, who came second.
