GEORGE NEWS - Karate-Zen South-Africa identified the Al Ahly Karate Club in Cairo as their choice of preference to their training camp with Egypt to fit in with the current World Karate Federation (WKF) international development drive.
A group of 27 members of the Karate -Zen team embarked on this fantastic journey. Sensei Mareon Ferndale and his son, Trevor Ferndale from Karate -Zen Pacaltsdorp accompanied the team as first timers. Ferndale teaches in the Community of Pacaltsdorp and Heather Park where he empowers the youth of the area and develop skills that can ensure their safety.
Ferndale said he was amazed by the skills and dedication of the Al Ahly youngsters and will utilize the knowledge gained in Cairo to ensure that the kids of Pacaltsdorp and Heather Park developed to their full potential.
"We would like to thank the Sport Director DR Mohamed of Al Ahly Club who is a former heavy weight WKF kumite champion and we wish to continue the exchange program between the two clubs in the future. We also would like to thank every contributor that helped to make this tour possible," Ferndale said.
