GARDEN ROUTE SPORT NEWS - The Eden League Squash Tournament for primary schools took place on 12 and 13 September, with matches hosted in George and Mossel Bay.
Eight teams from six schools competed, including Bramble Hill International (George), Laerskool George-Suid, Outeniqua Primary (George), Vorentoe Primary (Great Brak River), Volschenk and Voorwaarts Primary (Riversdale).
A special highlight was Bramble Hill’s debut. Squash was only introduced as a sporting code at the school a few weeks ago, yet the learners managed to field a team after just seven practice sessions.
The competition was keenly contested, with Vorentoe A claiming gold, Outeniqua A taking silver and Voorwaarts securing bronze.
