GEORGE NEWS - The George Business Chamber (GBC) hosted its annual charity golf day at Kingswood Golf Course on Thursday 11 May. Proceeds of a raffle held on the day were donated to the Garden Route SPCA (GRSPCA).
"We are immensely grateful for the support from everyone. Special thanks go to the business chamber and Tekkie Town for supporting the raffle on the day," said a GRSPCA committee member, Deborah Patrick.
The raffle and auction of a fourball for Pinnacle Point raised much-needed funds for the GRSPCA.
Despite the cold, windy and wet conditions, as well as most players retiring after nine holes, the day was a big success with a fantastic raffle that saw prizes such as a Cobra King Nova putter, Cobra Aerojet driver and many vouchers and other prizes.
"We also want to thank Rika Bouwer of our charity shop and volunteers Danika and Anke for taking turns to walk Nero, our mascot. Also a big thank you to the other volunteers who assisted during registration," said Patrick.
