FOOTBALL NEWS - Eden Region supporters branches of Mamelodi Sundowns, the National Premier Soccer League side, gathered at Thembalethu Stadium in George on Saturday 12 August to celebrate Women's Month.
Four branches participated in the mini-tournament, namely George, Mossel Bay, Knysna and Plettenberg Bay. The first game of the day was played between George and Mossel Bay, and ended in a 1-1 draw.
The second match was very entertaining with the Knysna branch surprising Plettenberg Bay with a score of 5-0.
Costa Ndlovu of the George supporters branch told Knysna-Plett Herald sister publication George Herald that the Eden Region branches of Mamelodi Sundowns are looking forward to playing more games of this nature.
He indicated that there will be more activities within the branches whereby they will be giving back to the communities.
Ndlovu said that the winner of this tournament will be representing the region at the Western Cape Provincial level, competing against other regional winners.
