This follows a recent Parliamentary reply by Justice Minister Michael Masutha saying he's received correspondence from the United States Law Enforcement Agency.
The agency said it was looking forward to its continued relationship between the American and South African justice departments.
The department's Mthunzi Mhaga said “There was no mention of any South African citizen or in the indictment, which is for public consumption on the internet, easily available. But there was an indication that investigations are underway.”
South Africa has been linked to the scandal through a $10 million payment made to Fifa, which officials claim was a donation to the African Diaspora Legacy Fund.
