GEORGE NEWS - The experienced Paris United FC from Thembalethu defeated Black Cats 3-0 in an entertaining Geolfa League fixture on Saturday afternoon, 15 June at the Lawaaikamp Stadium. Anele "Jali" Pungwana (brace) and Ayabonga Joja contributed the three goals for Paris United.
With seven games left, Paris United is currently sitting comfortably at the top of the table 55 points.
They have played 23 games with 17 wins, four draws and two defeats, while Black Cats are languishing at the bottom half of the table. After Anele Pungwana opened the score, Paris United kept pushing for more goals, leading to Ayabonga Joja extending their lead to 2-0 just before the half-time whistle. Black Cats put in everything they had in the first half but couldn't keep standing against the United team.
The second half saw both teams playing excellent touches on the ball - with the home team, Black Cats, continually on the defence against the strong attacks from Paris United wingers. Anele "Jali" Pungwana netted his brace making it 3-0 after a movement that started in the centre of the field. Black Cats had no answer and had to accept their 3-0 defeat.
