GEORGE SOCCER NEWS - As log leaders, Infantry School Football Club from Oudtshoorn will represent Eden in the South African Football Association (Safa) provincial playoffs of the SAB Regional League, which will take place next month.
This is in order to determine which two teams will be promoted to the Western Cape ABC Motsepe League for the upcoming season.
The bottom two teams, Springbok FC (Dysseldorp) and Heaven Stars FC (George), will be relegated.
The Covid-19 pandemic has severely affected the development of football across the world, and non-professional leagues in South Africa did not escape its impact.
Safa Eden vice-president, Chris Tyhawana, said that the registration of the SAB League teams for the new season will start soon. "We are already busy preparing for the new season of 2020/2021," he said.
Safa Eden has resolved to stop and declare the 2019/2020 SAB Regional League as final according to the existing log standings.
The current teams in the Safa Eden Regional League are:
Infantry (Oudtshoorn), Black Cats FC (George), Moonlight FC (Dysselsdorp), Simunye FC (George), United Brothers FC (George), Peace Makers FC (Mossel Bay), FC United (Knysna), Young Blues FC (George), Eastern City FC (George), Oriented Birds FC (Plettenberg Bay), Parks United (George), Young Pirates FC (George), Knysna Celtics FC, (Knysna), Paris United FC (George), Springbok FC (Dysselsdorp) and Heaven Stars FC (George).
The struggling Heaven Stars Football Club from George will be relegated from the SAB Regional League next season after finishing bottom of the log together with Springbok FC (Dysselsdorp).
