GEORGE NEWS - On Human Rights Day, Monday 21 March, the high-flying Silver Town-based team Silver Stars played a 1-1 draw against Fast Eleven in a Geolfa League game at the Lawaaikamp Stadium.
The two goals were scored by Sihlangule Bolo for Fast Eleven and Siyolise Nadopu for log leaders Silver Stars. Silver Stars have played 12 games in the league with 10 wins, one draw and one defeat, scoring 27 goals and conceding eight.
They are sitting at the top of the log with 31 points in total, while Fast Eleven are trying to work their way up to the top five.
Fast Eleven dominated the first half of the game launching strong attacks. Sihlangule Bolo scored the first goal after a dangerous attack from the centre of the field. Silver Stars tried to come back, looking for their first goal, but their target man Lungisa Mzolo missed his opportunity when his shot went over the bar.
Fast Eleven were leading 1-0 into the break.
The second half saw Silver Stars hunting for the equalising goal, attacking Fast Eleven defenders and employing the speed of their wingers Asiphe Nkata and Sinalo Sikateni.
Avela Mafukula of Fast Eleven was a thorn in the side of Silver Stars defenders, repeatedly using his speed to beat their defenders.
Nevertheless, Silver Stars managed to equalise in the last minutes of the game with a marvellous strike from Siyolise Nadopu.
