SOCCER NEWS - The Lawaaikamp girls, the Black Cats, showed no mercy when they downed Royal Crusaders from Plettenberg Bay with an astounding 10-1 in a thrilling Safa Eden Regional Women's League fixture at the Lawaaikamp Stadium on Saturday 18 October.
Sanelisiwe Yengwa (4), Mpulu Zubenathi (brace), Usiphile Ngqavu (brace), Ithandile Mawindi and Mbalentle Ngedwa contributed the 10 goals for Black Cats and Lesedi Kwentle scored for the Crusaders.
The Cats dominated the game from the centre of the field.
After Zubenathi Mpulu opened the score, her teammates kept up a sustained attack, seeing Yengwa extending their lead to 2-0.
Just before half-time, the Crusaders launched an attack and managed to break the net. The first half ended 2-1.
The second half saw the Black Cats looking very sharp on the ball. Usiphile Ngqavu netted their third goal, putting more pressure on the Royal Crusaders' backline. The Cats gained more confidence on the ball and created more chances, causing the Crusaders to chase shadows.
The Cats scored seven goals more to register their third win in six games, having lost in three.
