This was revealed this week by Usuthu’s long-serving left back, Marc Van Heerden, this week. Speaking to journalists, Van Heerden said the big win against their former PSL rivals came as a big boost for the Durban based team.
“We needed that victory, and to score four goals boosted our confidence and belief,” said the Bafana player.
“We now need to go to our next match with the same winning attitude, especially since we are playing at home. I think we are going in the right direction, and we must continue working hard and take our opportunities,” said Van Heerden, a former Tuks player.
Before the season started, Van Heerden was linked with a move away from Usuthu, but opted to remain and help the team reinvent itself and get back up to the top flight.
