CRICKET NEWS - An obdurate 49-run stand for the eighth wicket kept Zimbabwe alive as they reached tea on 259 for seven on the fourth afternoon of the second test against the Windies in Bulawayo on Thursday.
Live Scoring: Zimbabwe v Windies
Sikandar Raza fell for 89 shortly after lunch, but Regis Chakabva (48 not out) and Graeme Cremer (13 not out) dug in to frustrate the visitors' attack.
Raza had already scored 80 in the first innings and taken 5 for 99 with his offspin, and his second contribution with the bat allowed Zimbabwe to go to lunch on day five on 199 for six, leading by 77 runs.
The West Indies struck twice on the final morning as they looked to wrap up the Zimbabwean innings and secure a 2-0 victory in the two-match series at Queens Sports Club.
The hosts added just four runs to their overnight toal of 140 for four before Peter Moor was caught at gully for 42 off the bowling of Shannon Gabriel, while Malcolm Waller scored just 15 before he edged a delivery from legspinner Devendra Bishoo to slip.
