CRICKET NEWS - Two coaches of the Garden Route Badgers women's team have received a call-up to the SA U19 women's team.
They are Yolandi van der Westhuizen, the assistant coach, and Gabi-Lee van der Westhuizen, the strength and conditioning coach.
Jezé Campher of the Garden Route Badgers was included in the SA U19 women's team earlier, which will be taking part in the third edition of the ICC U19 Women's World Cup in Bangladesh and Nepal in January next year.
As part of the 12-month build-up to the tournament, the SA U19 women's team will play in a tri-series against their Zimbabwean counterparts and a CSA Youth XI later in January. The CSA Youth XI will consist of players in the broader SA U19 squad, as well as recent graduates from the SA U19 women's programme.
The fixtures for the tri-series are as follows and will take place at the Chatsworth Oval in Durban:
n 9 January: SA U19 women vs Zimbabwe U19 women
n 10 January: SA U19 women vs CSA Youth XI
n 12 January: SA U19 women vs CSA Youth XI
n13 January: CSA Youth XI vs Zimbabwe U19 women
n 15 January: SA U19 women vs Zimbabwe U19 women
n 16 January: Zimbabwe U19 women vs CSA Youth XI
n 18 January: Final.
