CRICKET NEWS - On 27 and 28 July, George Cricket Club hosted an inaugural Business & Social Cricket league at their home field, Rooirivierrif, aimed at providing a platform for community members to take part in a social cricket structure and to raise some funds for the club.

The format of the league is 8 players a side with matches of 12 overs per innings.
The results of the first weekend of matches were as follows:
Sat 27 July
- Optimum Invitational (111/4) beat Veterans Invitational (108/7)
- Legal Leg Spinners (112/6) beat Ricoh Garden Route (86/6)
- Tekkie Town (90/3) beat Garden Route Radiology (89/1)
Sun 28 July
- Louvain vs Airvent Invitational (postponed)
- Legal Leg Spinners (62/1) beat Garden Route Radiology (61/5)
- Legal Leg Spinners (108/4) beat Tekkie Town (86/5)
The next round of matches will be played on Saturday 3 August at the same venue.
