GEORGE ATHLETICS NEWS - Athletes from all over the region braved a chilly morning on Saturday 17 August to take part in the Five to Ten race in Thembalethu that was organised by Thembalethu Wellness Club.
It was the club's first race since its registration with Athletics South Western District (ASWD) in February this year.
It started and finished at Inkcubeko Youth and Science Centre. Athletes from various athletics clubs took part including Rainbow, Petro SA, Nedbank George, Nedbank Knysna, Hartenbos and Outeniqua Harriers.
Thembalethu Wellness Club has three divisions - Athletics, Cardio and Zumba, and their aim is to promote wellness, a positive and healthy lifestyle, and to help curb crime within the community.
The organisers thanked the club members who worked tirelessly in making sure that it was a successful event. The race would not have been possibile without the sponsors, namely Imperial Ford, Top Gear, Mr Tekkie, Sanguine Spa, Twizza, Benda's Car Wash, CD Simango, Eden FM, Inkcubeko Youth And Science Centre, and Uncedo Taxi Association.
