GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - Ten athletes from the Eden Acrobatic Performance Sport Association (Eapsa) have qualified to compete at the Acrobatic Performance National Championships.
They had to compete on district, regional and thereafter interprovincial level to be considered for the nationals that will be hosted in Gauteng later this year.
Acrobatic sport is a combination of dance movements incorporated in a routine with contortion, balance and tumbling elements performed on a stage.

The sport is fairly new in the Western Cape region and it is indicative of the local qualifying athletes’ drive, commitment and hard work to have performed the qualifying scores for nationals.
The following athletes from the Eden district have qualified to represent the Western Cape team in their respective levels:
* Gracey Johnson (Level 4).
* Lia Schmidt (Level 6).
* Mishke van Niekerk (Level 6).
* Nasia Athanasiou (Level 8)- High Performance.
* Amé Loubser (Level 8) - High Performance.
* Yva De Sousa (Level 8) - High Performance.
* Sophia Morley (Level 8) - High Performance.
* Yohke van Niekerk (Level 9) - High Performance.
* Elishaén Smit (Level 9) - High Performance.
* Nicola Minnie (Level 10) - High Performance.
