GEORGE NEWS - Glenwood House was filled with pride, applause and joyful emotion on Monday 12 January, as families, teachers and students gathered to celebrate the release of the Class of 2025 matric results.
The event marked not only the culmination of 12 years of schooling, but a moment of shared achievement that reflected the strength, spirit and academic excellence of this close-knit school community.
The results presented on the day were nothing short of outstanding. Glenwood House achieved a 100% pass rate, with an impressive 98% Bachelor’s Degree pass rate and 2% Diploma passes across a cohort of 55 matriculants. These results reflect both individual dedication and the school’s ongoing commitment to academic rigour, holistic development and personal growth.
Several students were celebrated for exceptional academic performance.
Clara Adrian achieved an outstanding eight distinctions, earning warm applause from the audience.
Three students achieved the rare distinction of a Full House with seven distinctions each: Yi Gao, Dylan Gomes Da Silva and Mia Hugo, a remarkable academic accomplishment that places them among the top achievers nationally.
Six distinctions were achieved by a strong group of high-performing students: Ivana Busek, Su-Mari de Villiers, Grace Kleu, Sofia Glynos and Karita Smit, each recognised on stage for their consistency, discipline and excellence across a demanding subject range
Special recognition was given to Dylan Gomes Da Silva, who received a Commendable Achievement Award for placing within the top 5% nationally in five subjects and achieving a rating level 7 in Life Orientation, a distinction that reflects both academic strength and balanced personal development
The atmosphere at the celebration was one of gratitude and pride, with heartfelt thanks expressed to teachers, families and staff who supported the class throughout their journey
Principal Mr Harbottle addressed the students with warmth and encouragement, saying:
"Congratulations, Class of 2025. Today we celebrate not only your academic success, but the character, resilience and integrity you have shown along the way.
"As you step into this next chapter, know that you will always be part of our school family. Carry the values you have learned here with confidence, curiosity and kindness. We wish you every success for the road ahead. Go out and chase your dreams.”
As the Class of 2025 leaves Glenwood House, they do so not only with excellent results, but with confidence, values and a strong sense of belonging, ready to shape the future with purpose and possibility.
