William David Lowe Donald, 65, was released on R3 000 bail when he appeared in the Goodwood District Court, before magistrate Sean Lea.
The charge sheet gave his address as Geo’s Farm, Old Tyger Valley Road, Richwood, Bothasig.
He is charged with dealing in dagga, after police found and confiscated 185 dagga plants worth about R370 000, on the farm.
Prosecutor Moosa Adonis did not oppose his release on bail, as agreed with defence attorney Leon van der Merwe.
Police searched the farm on Tuesday, and allegedly found two garden enclosures in which dagga plants of different sizes were growing.
It is alleged that they then uncovered a hydroponic dagga laboratory in a stable near the house.
It is alleged that 185 dagga plants were confiscated, as well as equipment that included lights and fans.
