This event is one of the firm favourites of the over 100 annual Pick n Pay Knysna Oyster Festival events and the most popular mid-week event.
“We originally wanted to launch an exclusive wine festival in the Garden Route, one which would allow guests to interact with high-profile vintners while tasting their wines,” explained Belinda. And so the Knysna Wine Festival was born and joined the successful Pick n Pay Knysna Oyster Festival in 2005.
Not only does this festival allow participants to enjoy great South African wines, but a portion of the door takings will be donated to local Sedgefield charity FreshStart. “This year wine sale profits will go towards the Lions Club, Sedgefield,” added Belinda.
Hundreds of wine lovers flock to this beautiful festival to enjoy the over 200 wines from 50 different wine estates.
They will have the pleasure of tasting the many wines and champagne, as well as single malt whiskies presented by Hector McBeth, chocolates and cheeses. The wines and whiskies will be available for purchase at special cellar door prices and cheeses at low celebratory prices.
Guests will once again be blown away by the event’s beautiful decór. For the first time, festival goers will be able to relax in the inaugural Drostdy Hof Lounge.
Besides the plentiful wines, Knysna Wine Festival guests will be spoilt by Beacon Chocolates, who are offering each ticket holder a special wine festival ten-year birthday present.
“We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate our tenth anniversary with sponsors, Stanmar Motors/ Mercedes Benz, Beacon. Protea Hotel Knysna Quays and Drostdy Hof Lounge.
“Both Gavin and I welcome Knysna Tourism and Eden District Municipality on board who will be highlighting the Garden Route and Klein Karoo local wine estates during the festival,” smiled a pleased Belinda.
