NATIONAL NEWS - Barely a week after the shocking Sandton City walkway collapse, a close friend of the victim has broken her silence.
The friend, Lucie Ndjeka, took to social media to identify the victim, 25-year-old Elfi Loambo from Buccleuch, and share her side of the story.
Ndjeka’s post, shared on the ‘I love Greenside’ Facebook page, showed images of Loambo and her injuries and spoke out on how the collapse affected her.
“She has [since] undergone two surgeries for her foot and is still in hospital recovering,” she explained.
She also added that Loambo had to miss her mid-year exams due to the injury and remained traumatised following the incident.
Ndjeka then called out Sandton City for their alleged lack of interest in Loambo’s recovery, saying they had not made any effort to visit her in hospital or provide her family with an explanation of what happened.
