NATIONAL NEWS - Two people have been arrested at OR Tambo International Airport with drugs and rhino horn worth an estimated value of R6 million.
At the weekend, police discovered about R5 million worth of cocaine in a passenger’s luggage. He was travelling from Sao Paulo in Brazil.
Police say that they stopped the man after it was discovered that he had no tags on his luggage.
In a separate incident, a man travelling to Hong Kong was arrested for carrying five rhino horns in his bag.
The man was escorted to the customs search area where the bag was put through the scanner. Police say that images resembling rhino horns could be seem among the contents.
A physical search of the bag was conducted and five rhino horns were found wrapped in foil.
