KZN man sentenced to 48 years in jail for raping his nieces

NATIONAL NEWS - A 22-year-old KwaZulu-Natal man has been sentenced to 48 years behind bars for raping his nieces over a period of three years.

The man was sentenced in the Esikhawini Regional Court today on four counts of rape.

Police say the victims were aged between eight and 12 and feared reporting the crimes because their uncle had threatened to kill them.

The police’s Thulani Zwane says, “He was convicted and sentenced to a total of 48 years imprisonment after he was found guilty of four counts of rape. This man is accused of raping three victims who are all related to him.”
