Bantu Mchunu is expected to appear for a bail hearing in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court today after handing himself over to authorities nearly two weeks ago.
Mchunu murdered his estranged wife at her sister’s home in Vosloorus.
Attorney Mzamo Nkobi, who speaks on behalf of the family, says they fear that if Mchunu is released he will come after them
"He’s a danger. Everyone is scared of him."
Nkobi says police watchdog, the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) has hired junior staff to handle the case and investigators have not been consulting the family about key developments.
