Rumoured to debut alongside the facelifted i8 coupe later this year, the Spyder will reportedly use a targa style removable roof stored inside and, like its fixed roof sibling, a more powerful version of the 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol / electric powertrain, improved on-board tech and revised suspension.
BMW is yet to officially announce when the updated i8 will become available.
