Originally Head of Interior Design at Audi before being promoted to Chief Designer at Skoda, Slovakian-born Kaban's earliest works included the diminutive Volkswagen Lupo and its Seat Arosa twin, but more recently the Skoda Octavia and the Bugatti Veyron.
The 44-year old will accordingly be responsible for BMW's core brand designs and report directly to Group Chief Designer Adrian van Hooydonk, with the Munich giant also confirming that Domagoj Dukec had been promoted as the new Head of Design for its M and sub-brands.
