WILDERNESS NEWS - The current water situation in Wilderness Heights and Wilderness was caused by water main damage which occurred on Sunday 6 October
Wilderness Heights residents are experiencing low pressure water to no water.
Wilderness may experience low water pressure.
Water trucks have been working constantly to maintain the reservoir at a reasonable level.
Water trucks are stationed at the Wilderness Heights shop, on the corner of Silver and Whites Roads and at Remskoen Road at the Informal Settlement for consumers to collect water with their own containers.
A safety report from Transnet is awaited on access to the bridge before any repairs can be carried out.
Consumers are urged to keep water consumption to a minimum.
George Municipality apologises for the inconvenience and assures the public that the repair efforts are being expedited as quickly as is possible given the difficult location of the failure and all safety concerns having to be addressed.
