GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - It's official: the Garden Route has two Top 10 Mr South Africa finalists - Kyle Hans from Plettenberg Bay and Leon van der Westhuizen from Knysna.
Kyle says he truly appreciates all the support he has been receiving since the start of his journey.
In an earlier interview with the Knysna-Plett Herald, Kyle said he entered the 2020 Mr SA competition with a reason, and he is not resting on his laurels.
"I see Mr SA as a platform through which to address many issues ranging from sport, gender-based violence, differently abled issues, the elderly, and more." He sees himself as an influencer, hoping to bring out the best in people regardless of age, race, or social standing.
Two very important causes have a special place in Kyle's heart - mental health and breast cancer. As October is dedicated to both, he really wants to raise awareness in a big way. "As a Top 10 Mr South Africa finalist I would like to show some love and my support to these causes," he says.
"I am asking people locally and internationally to please join in."
He appeals to people to get involved by baking or buying lime and pink cupcakes. "Please take pics of the making, baking, icing and eating of the cupcakes.
Of course, I will be doing the same. I will then post on my timeline and together we can create the much-needed awareness," he says. "Let's get out there and share with neighbours, visit hospitals and clinics, thanking them and showing appreciation for those who are undergoing treatment."
Kyle also wants to take this drive to orphanages, shelters and retirement villages.
