GEORGE NEWS - Applications to cast special votes for the by-election in Borcherds open today.

Voters have until 17:00 on Friday 11 October to apply for these votes.

In two weeks, on 23 October, residents of Borcherds will elect the candidate who will represent them in the George council. However, there are special circumstances that would allow voters to cast their vote prior to election day.

Those who may apply for a home visit at their residences are:
Voters who are registered but unable to vote on election day, and registered voters who are sick or disabled and unable to travel to their voting station.

To apply for a special vote, please visit www.elections.org.za to complete your application online. Alternatively, complete your application manually by downloading the MEC35 form at www.elections.org.za or by collecting the application form from the local IEC office. 

Remember to return the completed application form to your local office when applying manually.
Manual submissions can be made at Suite 110, 133 Cradock Street, Bateleur Park in George.
