WESTERN CAPE NEWS - The Western Cape Government Health Department has issued a statement saying there have been no confirmed cases of coronavirus in George.

“Please help us to keep the phone lines at George Hospital available.

“We understand that the public are concerned but we urge all residents to remain calm. South Africa has tried-and-tested systems in place to address such scenarios, and we have taken steps to prepare accordingly.

“We urge members of the public to continue to use our recently launched platform: www.westerncape.gov.za/coronavirus to stay up-dated with credible information as well as contact the 24-hour Public Hotline on 0800 029 999.”

Members of the public with symptoms of COVID-19 are encouraged to contact the hotline before presenting at a clinic or hospital emergency centre.
