GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - Motorists are expected to ramp up the payment of their outstanding traffic fines before travelling to various parts of the country over the festive season.
According to FNB Connect, the volume of payments through FNB’s Traffic Fine Payment Solution via FNB’s digital platforms has regularly shown a significant rise around the festive season.
Traffic fine payments through FNB have increased by 68% from 2016 to 2017, roughly 14% of payments are made via the FNB APP (introduced in March 2017), 77% through Online Banking and 9% at ATMs.
Shadrack Palmer, Chief Commercial Officer at FNB Connect says, “The increased use of digital platforms to pay traffic fines can be attributed to the fact that consumers want services at their fingertips, 24/7.
"Being able to do most errands conveniently in the comfort of your home does not only save time, it’s also a saving if you consider associated travel costs.”
Palmer says the payment of traffic fines is not the only popular service on their platforms at this time of the year.
He says they usually see a substantial increase in DSTV subscriptions payments which indicates that families are looking for various forms of entertainment for their ‘staycation’.
